I was mucking around with CarPlay today and stumbled across something very cool – an expanded range of widgets that can show up on your vehicle’s entertainment unit screen.
In the first iteration of widgets a few OS back, there were only a handful of widgets available. Now, I would estimate 80 to 90 per cent of widgets available on your phone and watch are now available in CarPlay. it’s pretty cool.
And you get two columns. So for example, one column, or ‘stack’ as Apple calls them could be productivity apps and the second column could be weather related. It’s all up to you. And you can have both stacks on the screen at the same time and flick through them (as per the video below).
It’s easy to set up through settings on the iPhone.
