Inaugural #POTA activation of North Beach at Mylestom (AU-11194) on the NSW east coast. #hamradio #amateurradio

This afternoon I am doing the inaugural activation of another new park on the #POTA Australia list – North Beach at Mylestom (AU-11194) between Coffs Harbour and Nambucca on the north coast of the state of New South Wales. I am roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.

As usual, I am using my Icom IC-7300 (Mk1) and my recently acquired JPC-12 vertical antenna. But today I am using a special radial plate with eight radials instead of four.

Mylestom is a small town in New South Wales, Australia, located on the coast near the mouth of the Bellinger River. At the 2021 census, Mylestom (North Beach) had a population of 336. It has a surf lifesaving club, a caravan park, a hotel, and shops.[citation needed]

I am on 40 and 15 metres between 0300 and 0600 UTC on Saturday 18 April 2026 and today I am activating as a part of the quarterly POTA appreciation weekend.
