Yesterday, Sunday 16 August 2026, I was at Diehappy State Forest AU-7632 on the Coffs Coast.
It wasn’t a successful activation. The band died soon after I set up. I had only five QSO. I had the IC-7300 running on an inverted V up a Spiderbeam.
That said, it was a lovely drive through great bush and I saw only two other vehicles all day.
This was my most remote POTA activation. I was 20 km off Waterfall Way at the Scotchman Peak, about 500 metres ASL. It’s was a still 15 degrees until the rain came and got heavier, bringing a premature end to my activation. And then the cloud rolled in.
