I watched the last Late Show with Stephen Colbert. I saw every monologue and, not all but, countless skits and interviews over the last decade. He’s the best I’ve ever seen. He’s been such a big part of my daily routine. No one has made me laugh more than Stephen.
I didn’t know what to expect with the last show yet what came wasn’t what I expected. It was tasteful and I don’t think he mentioned Trump once. Nor did he spray (nor thank for that matter) the appalling CBS network that boned him earlier in the year to gain favour with Trump.
Interestingly, he only said “Goodbye from the Ed Sullivan Theatre”. He didn’t say “Goodbye”. As he signed off, next to Sir Paul McCartney, he sang “Hello Goodbye “. I think he’ll be back sooner than we think.
