GridTracker for Mac now works seemlessly with SDR Control for Icom (for Mac) without audio routing #hamradio #amateurradio

I love SDR Control for Icom but had been using WSTJ-X for FT8 due to its interaction with GridTracker.

Previously, it was possible to connect GridTracker to SDR Control for Icom using Loopback from Rogue Amoeba (as per the SDR Control for Icom online manual).

The developer of SDR Control for Icom,  Marcus Roskosch / DL8MRE, advised this week in response to a support inquiry:

As for connecting GridTracker, you might not actually need the Loopback driver. I have added the possibility to submit message packets to external apps, and I have been told that this should work with GridTracker as well.

Well it works! Quickly and easily.

  • Step one – into SDR Control for Icom’s settings, type your WSJT-X settings.
  • Step two – check your SDR Control for Icom settings in GridTracker.

It’s that easy – see below.

Step one

Settings interface for SDR Control for Icom version 2.9.93, displaying configuration options for UDP broadcast, logging, and network services.

Step two

And here’s how the finished product looks!

Awesome!
