Today I am basking in the spring sun by the Nambucca River, between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie on the east coast of Australia.
This is the first POTA activation of this river (AU-10470 – Nambucca National Wild and Scenic River) which runs from the mountains to the sea (Source: Wikipedia).
Today is my first POTA spot since mid-July when I got washed out and frozen at The Bellinger River, south of Coffs Harbour, in the middle of winter in July.
Today I will be operating phone (voice) on 40 and 15 metres and FT8 on 15 metres. I will post the spots on pota.app and ParksnPeaks.
I tried POTA via the International Space Station at 0130 UTC with my new handheld Yagi and ID-52A Plus but to no avail. I could hear a few calls but received no QSL.
I am on an Icom IC-7300 with a 20 metre long end fed long wire running east west.
