On this week’s MacGeekGab show, there was a discussion about AirTag holders. I have tried a few different AirTag holders, and here’s where I have landed.
For devices where I don’t want potential villains to see an AirTag, like a car, or bike, I use Pelican a “Protector Sticker Mount Case”. These are a little box that the AirTag goes into and with the double-sided very adhesive tape, you can secure it anywhere… under a dashboard, under a bike seat and so on.
For bags and so forth where the tag travels inside the bag (like checked luggage) I have a few AirTags attached to a “Pelican KeyChain Case” and I move these from bag to bag as needed. I also use this AirTag holder on my keys. It features a rubber surround and a carabiner clip that can be attached to zippers inside luggage or used to hold keys.
For bags where the tag is on view or attached to something stylish, like a shoulder bag, I use an “Incase Woolenex Key Clip for AirTag” .
For ‘I don’t care placements’, I use “Belkin Secure Holder with Key Ring”. However, I have had issues separating them when the battery needs to be replaced.
I am yet to find an AirTag holder for the dog collar that I like. I have tried a variety on Amazon. The ones that ‘hold and loop’ are good but I find in rough play, the AirTag can go flying. (I had another one that involved screwing it together with a Hex or Allen key, but it rusted, and I had to break it apart to get the AirTag out. I am on another new one now which involves screwing two things together.
