In the show that landed down under on Tuesday, 10 December 2024, Pete spoke about restoring iOS (on an iPhone) by plugging it into a Mac. Well, that’s not the only Apple device you can use to do this.
You can plug Home Pods and Home Pod Minis into your Mac to restore them. They start glowing amber!
How do I know? A few years ago, my ISP sent me a new modem/router that quickly turned into a cage match between their crap box and my flotilla of Home Pods. In the end, I had to reset the Homepods, and I learned you do this by plugging them into your Mac, and I think, doing it all through Finder (rather than like we used to do it through iTunes).
It worked, I got my flotilla back out to sea, tossed the ISP modem/router and got Orbis, which work just fine. ASA: https://support.apple.com/en-au/108389
