A friend recently sought some thoughts from me on his farewell speech from a place he had worked at for 10 or so years.
I offered the following advice:
- Say nice things about everyone – don’t throw a grenade into the cabin as you parachute out
- Don’t praise yourself too much
- Keep it short
- No one will believe a word you say
