The farewell speech.

A friend recently sought some thoughts from me on his farewell speech from a place he had worked at for 10 or so years.

I offered the following advice:

1. Say nice things about everyone – don’t throw a grenade into the cabin as you parachute out
2. Don’t praise yourself too much
3. Keep it short
4. No one will believe a word you say
