This morning I had reason to visit the emergency section of my local hospital. Nothing major, just a wound that had the potential to get dodgy. But that’s not the story.
While waiting, I looked at the list of life members. The name of “Lord Nuffield” on the list caught my eye. A Lord of the realm? Bello? A Life Member of the hospital? That doesn’t triangulate.
I looked him up. Goodness me, this bloke would have been right at home here before the hippies came in the 70’s! What a tyrant!
There’s as immense amount of writing about him. He’s legendary for good and bad reasons. He brought us the Morris Minor! He also dropped a lot of money into Australia. But he was an aristocrat of the worst kind.
