Gallipoli1990

My Gallipoli 1990 project is now live

A few weeks ago, I posted about an activity I recently did to get some old reel-to-reel audio tapes transferred to digital files. Thanks to the digitisation, I’ve now had a chance to listen to what was on those tapes for the first time in 35 years. And now I’ve decided to go ahead with their public release. I’m happy with the content and amazed at the audio quality after they sat in boxes for 35 years (on magnetic tape).

The page on the link below explains everything. I won’t repeat in detail here. But briefly, it’s a radio documentary I did when I was embedded in a project to take 59 Gallipoli veterans back to ‘the fatal shore’ in 1990 for the 75th anniversary of the landing. I covered the pilgrimage daily for my network and, at its conclusion, made this documentary for the Australian Government. And here it is: www.gallipoli1990.net. I’ve also put it on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, YouTube (audio), and SoundCloud (links are on the site).

Lest we forget.
