Apple Music

At first glance, I thought the new Apple Music service was just a fancy packaged version of Pandora or Spotify with the usual Apple hoopla and fairy dust.

But no, I found the genus of it tonight. The genius is in the human created playlists rather than those manufactured by algorithm. We knew that. I just didn’t know where they were or how awesome they were. I now know both.

They’re not that easy to find. Here’s where they are:

1. Bottom row of screen – click “NEW”.

2. Make sure “all genres” is selected in red at the top of the screen.

3. Flick down once or twice until you reach the bars
APPLE EDITORS
ACTIVITIES
CURATORS

4. Choose “APPLE EDITORS”

You have found the gold mine! There’s loads of curated music under “featured” (next to “playlists” and “connect”):
On repeat
Albums you need to hear
Radio
On rotation

Look for the “>” symbol to open up more options.

There’s another gold mine under playlists.

Great stuff.
